For students from outside Lahore, Forman Christian College has six hostels, with a capacity to accommodate an average of 100 students per hostel. Most of the rooms accommodate one person each but a few dormitories are also available. Each hostel has an attached kitchen, dining hall, a guest room and a common room equipped with television and a range of indoor games. The hostels are constructed around a garden quadrangle and offer a pleasant place to live and study.
The College administration plans to renovate a hostel for our young women students sometime in 2007. This hostel will have the same capacity and facilities as other hostels.
Due to the limited number of available rooms, admission to hostels is based on a set of criteria. A primary criterion is merit (marks obtained in the last major examination). All hostels house students from one class to enhance academic cooperation among the residents. Each hostel has two faculty members, a warden and an assistant warden, who live in the hostel and provide support and supervision to the residents of that hostel.
Meals are offered at scheduled times; charges for the meals and electricity are distributed among the residents. The names of the hostels and the respective class that they house are given below. |
