Forman Christian College is proud to display a long list of distinguished Formanites who have established themselves as individuals of integrity and excellence. One of its faculty members, Prof. Arthur Compton, conducted the bulk of his research on cosmic rays at FCC for which he received the Nobel Prize in 1927. Two distinguished alumni, Dr. Sir S. S. Bhatnagar and Dr. Bashir Ahmad, laid the foundation for scientific & industrial research in both parts of the Sub-Continent by establishing ICSIR and PCSIR respectively.
The first two Science Graduates of FC College were also the first Science Graduates of the University of the Punjab (1900-02). In this way FC College was the first to establish, in this part of the Sub-Continent: Departments of Biology (1898), Greek, Latin & Hebrew Languages (1895-96), Industrial Chemistry (1917), Geography (1924), setting up the Experimental Psychology Laboratory; introducing the Tutorial System (1908); appointing Deans of the Faculties; introducing co-educational system (1902); and, establishing a Graduates Association (1896).
Major achievements of Formanites also include:
- Its illustrious Principal Dr. Sir J. C. R. Ewing was knighted for his memorable services to humanity and education. He also served as Vice Chancellor of the Punjab University for seven years.
- Principal Dr. C. H. Rice and a faculty member, Dr. Khairat M. Ibne Rasa, became Vice Chancellors of the Punjab University.
- Â The first Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Sir Mian Abdur Rashid, administered the oath to Quaid-e-Azam as the first Governor General.

- Sir Sheikh Abdul Qadir, Sir Mian Muhammad Shafi, Justice Kanwar Dilip Singh, Justice Shadi Lal, Sardar Kirpal Singh Majethia, Allama Inayat Ullah Al-Mashriqi, Swami Ram Teerath, Krishen Chander, Khan Bahadur Muhammad Sana Ullah, former Archaeological Advisor to the Viceroy of India who discovered and preserved many monuments in the Sub-Continent.
- Justice Shamim Hussain Qadri, Justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal, former Chief Justices; Justice Mahboob Ahmad was Former Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan.
- Vice Admiral H. M. S. Chaudhry, first Naval Chief of Pakistan; Admiral Iftikhar Ahmad Sirohey, former Naval Chief and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
- Ahmad Saeed, former chairman of Pakistan International Airlines and Director of the family business, Service Group Industries.
- Lt. Gen. (R) Ghulam Jilani Khan and Ch. Altaf Hussain, former Governors of Punjab.
- Ilahi Buksh Soomro, former Speaker of National Assembly and Chief Minister of Sindh; Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, former Speaker of National Assembly; Taj Muhammad Jamali & Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, former Chief Ministers of Baluchistan; Mian Afzal Hayat, former Chief Minister of Punjab.
