Brief Profile

Dr. Najeeb Uddin Jamal is a Professor of Urdu at Forman Christian College (a Chartered University). He has 47 years of teaching experience at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, and the International Islamic University Islamabad. His research interests include criticism, classical poetry, and modern poetry. He has supervised 18 PhD research theses and more than 30 MPhil research theses in these fields.

Research and Publications

1. Dr. Najeeb Uddin Jamal also has extensive research experience and has published more than two hundred research articles in prominent national and international journals, as well as eighteen books on research and criticism.
2. The Government of Pakistan has honored him with the Presidential Award (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) in 2016 for his services in the field of literature.
3. He is recipient of the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award from The University of Istanbul. In 2014 he won the UBL Literature and Arts Awards for his book Yagana.
