Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) has reached a major milestone in its pursuit of accreditation with the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). Rector FCCU, Dr. Addleton and Vice Rector Dr. Trimble traveled to Massachusetts to represent FCCU before the 27 NECHE Commissioners on September 26, presenting the case for candidacy status as the next step in Forman's quest toward initial NECHE accreditation. At the conclusion of the meeting, Forman was officially approved for candidacy status. This is good news and means that Forman has now ascended the first two of three steps leading to NECHE accreditation: (1) eligibility; (2) candidacy; and (3) initial NECHE accreditation. The Department of English, FCCU, organized an engaging session under ‘The Writer’s Lounge Series’ with Prof. Amina Yaqin (University of Exeter, UK) on September 30, 2024. Prof. Amina Yaqin focused on the rich history of women's writing in the subcontinent. Through carefully exploring power dynamics, protest, and poetic forms, she illuminated the multifaceted experiences of women navigating a complex socio-political landscape. On September 19, 2024, the Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Career Services and Internships Office, organized an insightful session titled "Building Brilliance: Shaping Students' Character for Success." The event featured the esteemed coach, trainer, and humorist, Mr. Adeel Hashmi. On 18th September, 2024, the Department of Computer Science hosted a mentoring session by a renowned business coach, and a proud alumnus Mr Ehtisham Akhtar for the final year students who are ready to take up their Senior Projects. Ehtisham echoed the importance of Senior Projects in a students career and how a simple idea can lead to a business venture.
