October 12 2023, marked a historic milestone in the life of FCCU with the inauguration of the first-of-its-kind Jim Tebbe Campus Center, named after FCCU’s former Rector Dr. James A. Tebbe. This building is a student-centered facility that houses a digital Library, meeting rooms, faculty, researchers hall, reading rooms, student
activity offices, dining hall, lounges, departmental store, art Gallery, smart bank, auditoriums, conference rooms, multipurpose halls, and a business incubation center.
The inauguration event was attended by dignitaries, including high-ranking bureaucrats, diplomats, renowned artists, businessmen, members of the corporate sector, celebrities, alumni, and the university faculty and staff. The unveiling of the plaque, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony was honored by Dr. Jonathan Addleton, Mr. Attiazaz Munawar ud Din, Dr. Douglas Trimble, Brig (R) Dr. Nayer Fardows, Dr. Kauser Abdullah Malik, Mrs. Badia Raza and Mr. Tajammul John Munir.
Dr. Jonathan S. Addleton, Rector FCCU delivered the inaugural address and appreciated the role played by various stakeholders in the completion of this monumental task . He praised the services of the building and works department: the team that played a pivotal role in the execution and construction of this building, expressing his heartfelt gratitude for their efforts. He expressed the desire to see the students of FCCU fully utilize this facility for their holistic development and academic excellence. There was also an award ceremony where various vendors and partners were acknowledged through the presentation of shields by the Rector.
The event also featured an exhibition of photographs by the late Mr. Shahid Zaidi (Zaidi’s photographer fame) an alumnus of FCCU. The exhibition was arranged in four sections. The first section consists of pictures taken from the post-1930 era. The second section comprises photographs of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other famous members of the Pakistan movement. The third section contains pictures of famous personalities and celebrities of Pakistan, and last but not least, a whole wall is dedicated to FCCU’s legacy as captured through the lens of the late Mr. Shahid Zaidi.
Being an integral part of the history of Pakistan, FCCU is honored to have hosted this event where history was both re-lived and made.
