Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) joins with many others in expressing our condolences on the death of former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf after a long illness on Sunday,February 5 in Dubai.
Born in Delhi in 1943, General Pervez Musharraf studied mathematics at Forman from 1959 until 1963. After completing his degree, he joined the Pakistan Army as a commissioned officer, contributing to the defense of the country in 1965 and again in 1971.
He was awarded the Imtiaz Sanad for gallantry displayed at Chawinda during the 1965. Later he became a commando serving in Pakistan’s Special Services Group. During subsequent years, he rose through the ranks, reaching the rank of four star general and Chief of Staff.
