This is an evening program made up of modules to be covered in 6 months, with 2 lectures 3 days a week.   The list of modules may include the following;

• Introduction to Global Food Security and Safety
• Sustainable Development Goals related to food security and poverty
• Public Policy for Food Security
• Problems being faced by the rural farming community
• Issues of Malnutrition and various interventions including SUN (Scaling Up Nutrition) movement
• Food Security, Water and Energy nexus
• Overview of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Systems in Pakistan
• Supply Chain Management; Farm to Fork
• Overview of National Agriculture Research System (NARS)
• Climate Change and its impact on Agriculture
• Regulatory Laws governing food, agriculture and livestock both at national and international level.
• Modern technologies being employed for sustainable agriculture
• Sanitary and Phytosanitary System (SPS) including National Animal, Plant Health Inspection Service (NAPHIS)
• Food Security and Changing Dynamics of Population

All modules will be taught through lectures and tutorials, in which there will be discussion of key concepts, and training in the critical appraisal of published information. In addition, some courses include guest lectures and site visits. Each module will comprise of 5-10 lectures.

This programme should enable students to understand different aspects of Food Security with a sound training in food systems with an international outlook.

This is a Program of 6 months duration with 6 lectures once a week on Saturday. It is particularly focused on In Service professionals who want to upgrade their skills. Any person who has completed 16 years of education in any area of life sciences or social sciences or business management with at least 2 years of experience or 14 years of education with at least 4 years of experience in relevant field will be eligible for admission to this program.
