Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) has reached a major milestone in its pursuit of accreditation with the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). Rector FCCU, Dr. Addleton and Vice Rector Dr. Trimble traveled to Massachusetts to represent FCCU before the 27 NECHE Commissioners on September 26, presenting the case for candidacy status as the next step in Forman’s quest toward initial NECHE accreditation. At the conclusion of the meeting, Forman was officially approved for candidacy status.
This is good news and means that Forman has now ascended the first two of three steps leading to NECHE accreditation: (1) eligibility; (2) candidacy; and (3) initial NECHE accreditation. While more work lies ahead, this moment represents a significant success for Forman, made possible through the efforts of the Forman community including students, and the dozens of faculty and staff who contributed to the various NECHE accreditation standards committees. The NECHE Commissioners expressed their appreciation for the strong involvement of the Forman community in preparing for this step.
This would not have been possible without former Rectors Dr. Peter Armacost and Dr. James Tebbe and their visionary leadership in initiating the accreditation process, along with Dr. Gloria Calib for her ongoing leadership in advancing the college’s NECHE engagement.
Forman continues its journey towards full accreditation, with this milestone serving as a moment of celebration for the entire community.
