Lahore, Pakistan – The first ICA Regional Conference 2024 successfully wrapped up on December 6, bringing together over 200 media and communication scholars from across Pakistan and around the world. The two-day event, held at Forman Christian College University (FCCU), explored the critical intersection of climate change and communication under the theme “Climate and Communication.”

Scholars and experts from diverse provinces, including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Islamabad, gathered to present research, exchange ideas, and engage in scholarly debates. The conference featured a dynamic blend of keynote speeches, plenary sessions, panel presentations, and poster exhibitions, facilitating a rich dialogue on how media can address climate-related challenges.

The event also embraced a hybrid format, allowing international scholars from countries such as Iran, India, Germany, China, the United States, Nigeria, and Australia to participate virtually. Keynote addresses were delivered by leading experts in the field: Dr. Noshir Contractor from Northwestern University (US), Dr. Marwan M. Kraidy from Northwestern University (Qatar), and Dr. Waqas Ejaz from the University of Oxford.
