BRIEF PROFILE:
Azeem Alphonce is an Assistant Professor of English Linguistics at Forman Christian College (a Chartered University) in Lahore, Pakistan, where he has been teaching since 2003. Currently pursuing a PhD in Linguistics, he holds an MPhil in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), an MA in English Language Teaching, a Postgraduate Diploma in English Language Teaching, an MA in English Literature, and an MBA. Additionally, he has earned certificates in the use of AI in education from Auburn University, USA, and in English Language Teaching from Iowa State University, USA.
He serves as Coordinator of the Linguistics Program, demonstrating leadership in academic programming and curriculum development. With extensive experience teaching English to students from diverse linguistic backgrounds, including nationals from the Arab world, China, Japan, Korea, Somalia, Brazil, and Russia, he brings a rich intercultural perspective to his work. His expertise lies in fostering linguistic proficiency across cultural boundaries, enhancing English education for non-native speakers, and contributing significantly to the field of linguistics and language pedagogy in Pakistan and beyond. His research interests include intercultural pragmatics, the relationship between language and culture, language pedagogy, and Critical Discourse Analysis, reflecting his commitment to promoting critical awareness in language learning and bridging cultural perspectives in education.
