Brief Profile
Prof. Dr. Dildar Ahmed is a former Dean of Faculty of Natural Sciences, FCCU (2017-2020) and a former Chairperson Department of Chemistry, FCCU (2011-2017). He led the foundation of the Department of Pharmacy at FCCU.
He is a HEC-approved PhD supervisor; over 30 years teaching, research, and administration experience. Life Member of Chemical Society of Pakistan.
Dr. Ahmed’s reaching interest include organic chemistry, reaction mechanism, organic synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, natural products, and medicinal chemistry. His research interests include natural products, extraction techniques, organic synthesis, antioxidant and pharmacological studies, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and obesity.

- MSc (University of Karachi) in chemistry.

Research & Publications
- Dr. Ahmed is an active researcher. He has completed several projects based on natural products, which include a PSF funded project: Phytochemical and biotechnology study on chemical constituents of Lagenaria siceraria, and a HEC funded project: Activity-guided isolation of bioactive compounds from medicinal plant Carissa opaca.
- Currently, his research group is involved in the isolation and extraction of natural products from plants, moder and green extraction techniques, synthesis of derivatives of natural compounds, antioxidant and anti-enzymatic activities of natural and synthetic compounds, natural remedies for diabetes and obesity.
