Brief Profile:
Dr. Sarwan Abbasi is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science. As of 2023, he has 17 years of teaching and supervisory experience and 2 years of professional industry experience. Prior to FCCU, he worked as Assistant Professor (Computer Science department) at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) Karachi, where he taught computing and French courses. Dr. Sarwan received his Ph.D. and MS degrees from Université Paris-Saclay (formerly Université Paris-SUD), and is a Gold Medalist in MS (IT) from Hamdard University, Karachi. He was selected as an international volunteer for the prestigious Nordic Usability conference NordiCHI, held in Oslo, Norway in 2006. He has five international publications – of which four (1 journal, 3 conferences) are in English and one (conference) publication is in French. His research interests include Usability, User Experience/User Interaction (UX/UI), cognitive ergonomics, human-centered design, and application of human factors (HF) in technology and informatics.
