BRIEF PROFILE:
Khizar Jawad is a distinguished historian with a specialization in themodern history of Pakistan, focusing particularly on the intricatedynamics of the 1947 partition and its profound impact on the region ofPunjab. His scholarly pursuits delve into the multifaceted dimensions ofSikh history, as well as the early modern state formation in Punjab. With akeen interest in exploring the human aspect of historical events,Professor Jawad has made significant contributions to the field of traumastudies, memories, and oral history in the context of Pakistan. Hisresearch not only unearths the historical facts but also strives tounderstand the emotional and psychological dimensions of the partition,adding a nuanced layer to the narrative. Beyond academia, ProfessorJawad is an advocate for public history, recognizing the importance ofmaking historical knowledge accessible to a wider audience. In line withthis commitment, he actively engages in public outreach through variouschannels, most notably his platform “Jinnah for All.” Through thischannel, he endeavors to create global awareness about Pakistan,presenting a more comprehensive and empathetic understanding of itshistory, culture, and people.
