Brief profile
Mudassir Farooqi is an Assistant Professor of International Relations and War Studies at the Department of Political Science. He has an interdisciplinary educational and research background, a PhD in Hybrid Warfare and Counter Terrorism from the University of Leicester, England, and an MPhil in Public Sector Marketing from UMT, Lahore. He has also served as a tutor of IR and Military Strategy at the School of History, Politics and IR of the University of Leicester, England. In 2021 & 2022, he proposed and organized FCC’s departmental research conference on the Politics of Terrorism and the Fall of Kabul. He has presented his doctoral and other research on Political violence, Political Marketing, Jihadi Terrorism and Social Entrepreneurship at the following international conferences, Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) conference 2018, British International Studies (BISA) conference-2018 and 2022, Society for Terrorism Research annual conference 2018 and Academy of Marketing Science Annual conference- 2019. In addition to all this, he has published eight research papers, including two book chapters, in domestic and top-tier international journals. His research interests include Wars and Military Strategy, Strategic and Security Studies, Political Marketing, Jihadi Terrorism, Taliban and Hybrid Warfare, Eastern IR Theory and Post-Modernist research methods. He always encourages students to reflect on their socio-economic and political issues and realities. He tends to inculcate values of ethics, honesty, integrity and patience and embrace the core values of FCC.
